When you are on a camping trip, you just want to have fun and not worry about preparing a hefty meal or about cleaning the mess you made during eating and preparation of the meal. You can be fishing or kayaking! Here is a list of hassle free and easy to prepare yet, fulfilling meals for camping for everyone to enjoy.
1. Mac and Cheese:
It is a very easy to prepare meal for camping which you can make ahead of time and pack in a pie plate to keep it from going stale during the journey. Prepare your classic mac and cheese, pack them and put them in your portable freezer and just heat it on the campfire for when you want to eat it. Make sure to add an extra layer of cheese while preparing it so, when you heat it up, it smells like it has been freshly prepared.
Oatmeal is a very tasty, fulfilling and very easy to make meal. You can add anything you like to your oatmeal. You can add peanut butter, or almond butter. You can top it with granola or fresh fruits. All you need is oatmeal and hot water and you are good to go.
3. Breads and Spreads:
Sandwiches which only consist of spreads are a great and convenient meal for when you are on a camping trip and you don’t have anything to clean up after preparing your meal, well except the butter knife that has jam, Nutella or peanut butter on it but, you can simply clean it with a tissue. They are a good combination of healthy carbohydrates and proteins.
Cereal is the easiest breakfast meal that you can even take with you to your camping trip. All you need is your favourite cereal, a spoon, a bowl and milk depending if you like milk in your cereal or not.
5. Tuna or Chicken Salad:
If you are not a fan of tuna then you can use grilled chicken for this meal recipe. This meal is not only fulfilling but, it is also very healthy and fun. Just tear up some celery in your bowl and add cherry tomatoes, and crackers. Then top your healthy and convenient salad with tuna or grilled chicken depending on your likes and dislikes.
6. Pizza Logs:
Who says you can’t enjoy pizza while you’re camping? It is very simple. Just prepare your pizza exactly how you would prepare normally and instead of cutting it in triangular slices, cut them in rectangular slices and place them like a log. Then store it in a tight box and put it in your portable cooler. Then when you’re ready to devour your pizza, just heat on the campfire for 10 minutes and enjoy.
7. Peanut Butter Banana Rolls:
Sure, it sounds weird and most of you haven’t tried it but, it is delicious and very fulfilling. Just spread a thick layer of peanut butter on your pita bread and add sliced bananas and chocolate chips. Roll it up and enjoy.
