Fishing is fun if you are able to catch some. It be aggravating if you are not able to catch fish despite your attempts. Catching fish in a lake is relatively easier because the water is still and calm.
Before working on these three fishing techniques, you will have to make little preparations and pay attention to some details. Before you plan your fishing trip, you must be aware of the weather conditions, three or four days earlier than the day of your actual trip. The weather conditions play a huge role in the availability of fish near the surface of the water. The hotter the weather is the harder will it be for you to catch fish because, they like cooler areas so in summer the fish are less likely to be nearer to the surface of the water. Then once you are there, you will have to experiment with these techniques before you actually use them.
You will have to monitor how a certain type of fish responds to a specific bait or a particular technique. The time you choose to go fishing also effects the amount of fish you would be able to catch. The best time to go fishing is either in the early morning or in the late evening. You will be able to catch plenty of fish during that time. Another thing that you must keep in mind is that more fish are available near the grassy and weedy areas so that is where you need to set your bait.
Here are three ways to catch fish from the lake which work every time but, you will require a little practice to perfect these three techniques.
The first way to catch fish from the lake is through pitching. It is a very easy technique. For pitching, you need to keep the reel open and leave the line enough so that it comes even to the reel. Then you must lower the tip of the rod with your thumb still on the reel spool. Then add the bait on the hook and add tension to the line by pulling on it. Let go of the lure in one swift motion and remove your thumb from the reel spool. Make sure that you close the reel as soon as the fish catches the bait.
This technique of catching fish from the lake is a bit trickier than pitching and it requires a little more practice to perfect it. Flipping is more precise as compared to pitching and helps in targeting your prey more effectively. To perform this technique of flipping, you need to leave at least eight to fifteen feet of your line and then when you do that you must close your reel. Extend your arm and pull the line after you grab it from between the reel. Now raise the rod and swing it towards your targeted prey in a pendulum motion after attaching the bait to it.
Another effective way of catching fish in the lake is through trolling. Through this method you will be able to catch a lot of fish in a shorter amount of time and this technique works great even in summer days when the fish are in the deep water. Just take you boat in the middle of the lake and stay still or move slowly. You will need more than one fishing rods for this purpose. Hook up the baits and lower the lines of your fishing rod in the water and sit back and wait until you see any reaction.
